Soul Brothers is the fourth studio album recorded by Ray Charles and the eleventh studio album by Milt Jackson.

The rare opportunity to hear Milt Jackson step out from behind his familiar vibraphones to play guitar and piano, and partner Ray Charles, in addition to manning the 88s, blow on the alto saxophone for two numbers, should not be missed. Particularly on this transparent LP version, which portrays the 1957 collaboration within a huge, naturally vibrant soundstage.

Mastered from the original master tapes, ORG Music's edition lays bare the relaxed, bluesy, often-boppish jazz on display from these two giants. With stellar support, the two headliners treat this affair as a backroom woodshedding session, replete with all the passion, freedom, and fun such get-togethers contain.

The "golden age" of recordings was from 1955 to 1965, at the beginning of the LP and the stereo era, where pure vacuum tube amplification helped produce recordings demonstrating unparalleled fidelity and warmth, lifelike presence and illumination.

This ORG Music LP was remastered by Bernie Grundman, using pure analogue components only, from the original analogue studio tapes through to the cutting head and was pressed on virgin vinyl at Pallas.
