Recorded on May 22–24 and June 15, 1967, at Rudy Van Gelder Studio in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey.

Wave is the fifth studio album by Antonio Carlos Jobim. By the time this album was released, Antonio Carlos Jobim was already an international superstar. Having recently won a Grammy Award for "The Girl From Ipanema" in 1965. By 1967 all the big name stars from up north were breaking down his door to work with the new "Gershwin of Brazil." In fact, Jobim had just finished working on an album with Frank Sinatra when he went into the studio to record this album.

The "golden age" of recordings was from 1955 to 1965, at the beginning of the LP and the stereo era, where pure vacuum tube amplification helped produce recordings demonstrating unparalleled fidelity and warmth, lifelike presence and illumination.

This Speakers Corner LP was remastered using pure analogue components only, from the original analogue studio tapes through to the cutting head, and was pressed with virgin vinyl at Pallas. More information under
